I don’t need to take it with me
I don’t need to bring it along
I don’t need to have reminders
How everything that could have gone wrong went wrong
I don’t need this inhibition
I don’t need to freeze in my tracks
Living with my own suspicions
There’s no need in bringing it back, in fact
That’s how they’ll all record it
Looking at my pay scale
Look at it through grayscale
That’s how I self-distort it
Looking at my pay scale
Look at it through grayscale
I don’t really need to suffer
To make me feel I’ve earned what I have
And I don’t need a social buffer
I’m really much more charming than that
And I don’t need someone’s approval
To step right up and have a good time
My inner critic’s far too brutal
And I’ve got far too much on the line this time
That’s how they’ll all record it
Looking at my pay scale
Look at it through grayscale
That’s how I self-distort it
Looking at my pay scale
Look at it through grayscale
You got one down, over the other one
One down, over the other one
One down, over the other one
One down. (Repeat 4x)
That’s how they’ll all record it
Looking at my pay scale
Look at it through grayscale
That’s how I self-distort it
Looking at my pay scale
Look at it through grayscale

Besides the delightfully smoky and expressive vocal work, I really like the mysterious, alluring storytelling quality of this EP. You can really tell AKK has poured every ounce of creativity she could muster into this, and it's resulted in a really nicely thematically cohesive release. bryface international music concern
